MCCF Seeks Program Officer

MCCF is announcing the position of Program Officer is currently open and candidates are being sought for the role.

Chantel Warren former Program Officer accepted the Executive Director's position with the Sunflower Chapter of the American Red Cross effective June 1.

McPherson County Community Foundation Program Officer

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide overall management of the grants program including program planning, oversee daily operations, provide training and support to potential grantees, community outreach, assist in raising funds for grant pool and program, manage grant pool fund, coordinate grant cycles, and assist in monitoring of grantee projects and reports.

MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Review solicited and/or unsolicited letters of intent, grant proposals, assessment of requests and contact with requesting agency and other funders.
2. Prepares and presents written proposal summaries for the Executive Director and Board of Directors, including recommendations for approval or decline.
3. Monitors progress of grantees to assist in their success in achieving key objectives. Serves as primary contact in negotiating and resolving issues for grants.
4. Initiates or develops projects in cooperation with nonprofit organizations, government agencies or collaborations where the project appears to have shared interest with MCCF’s mission and programmatic priorities.
5. Initiates community outreach and serves as a liaison between MCCF and grant seekers.
6. Responsible for implementing the YAC program, ensuring ethical practice and adherence to agency policies.
o Responsible for training and supervision of, the YAC, and volunteers.
o Assists YAC board in solicitation of businesses, corporations, and individuals in the community to raise grant pool funds.
o Communicates regularly with school counselors to update on YAC activities and recruit new members.
7. Acts as a representative of the McPherson County Community Foundation, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
8. Reports all activities to the Executive Director and attends board of directors meetings.
9. Performs other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• BA or BS degree or related experience in philanthropic field
• Administrative experience preferred
