Philanthropist of the Year | The Living Legacy of McPherson County | Acorn Accounts

James and Barbara Greischar have been instrumental in the Community Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. Jim makes sure things run smoothly and oversees transportation of supplies and equipment to and from the dinners. Barb organizes the volunteers, taking hundreds of calls, to scheduling each volunteer into optimal times and positions. Together they provide an invaluable service to the community.
Jim and Barb Greischar were named the 2011 Philanthropists of the Year.

Philanthropist of the Year is designed to recognize the work of volunteers serving our communities. A philanthropist has been defined as a person who endeavors to help humankind, as by charitable aid or donations.

As each nonprofit works to promote their mission, dedicated volunteers promote philanthropy by working to ensure their success. Directors throughout the county can attest to the time, talents, and treasures volunteers bring to their organizations.

Applications for the 2012 award will be available in September 2012.
