Philanthropist of the Year | The Living Legacy of McPherson County | Acorn Accounts

Philanthropist of the Year is designed to recognize the work of volunteers serving our communities. A philanthropist has been defined as a person who endeavors to help humankind, as by charitable aid or donations.

As each nonprofit works to promote their mission, dedicated volunteers promote philanthropy by working to ensure their success. Directors throughout the county can attest to the time, talents, and treasures volunteers bring to their organizations.

Organizations are encouraged to complete a brief application nominating volunteers that have worked with them at any level. Information needed for the application includes: what type of volunteer work has the applicant performed, how long, and what qualities make this person a philanthropist?

If the volunteer is selected as the Philanthropist of the Year, the nominating organization will receive a $300 grant to be used for program or operating expenses. The chosen philanthropist and organization will be recognized at the McPherson County Community Foundation’s Recognition Luncheon held each November.

Staff or board members of nonprofit organizations operating in McPherson County may download an application here or email the Foundation for more information at info@mcphersonfoundation.org.
