09 Apr Grant Update: Valley Hope Equipment update
In 2025, the McPherson County Community Foundation awarded Valley Hope of Moundridge a $5,245 grant to purchase 50 new chairs for its treatment facility.
The chairs were placed in the facility’s lecture hall. According to Valley Hope’s report, many of the existing chairs had become damaged or worn over time, making the space less comfortable and welcoming. Several chairs also had structural issues and could no longer be used.
Valley Hope of Moundridge is a nonprofit treatment center focused on recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Megan O’Connor, executive director of the Valley Hope Foundation, said creating a comfortable environment for workshops, lectures, and therapy sessions helps reduce distractions and allows patients to focus on their recovery.
