24 Sep CAPS Design Challenge Photos
This Thursday, the McPherson County Community Foundation, along with high schools from across McPherson County, gathered at McPherson College’s Campus Commons for the county’s first CAPS Design Challenge. The event gave more than 70 high school students the opportunity to develop solutions to a real-world challenge facing a McPherson County organization.
During the event, students were divided into 15 teams, with each team including one student from each participating district. Students took on different roles throughout the challenge, contributing through brainstorming, graphic design, research and other areas of the project.
Each team then presented its ideas to a panel of judges made up of local business and community professionals. Every student was required to participate in the presentation, giving them an opportunity to practice collaboration, communication and public speaking.
At the end of the day, two teams were recognized for their presentations and the strength of their collective ideas.
The Foundation is excited to share more from this landmark event in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for additional videos and stories highlighting the students, their ideas and the impact of the first McPherson County CAPS Design Challenge.
