Scholarship Process Opening to County Students

Scholarship Process Opening to County Students

MCPHERSON, KAN. —- The McPherson County Community Foundation (MCCF) scholarship application process officially opens on Oct. 27. Requirements of scholarships will vary, but general applications will be accepted from all students in McPherson County.

Students can apply through the link on the Foundation’s website under university/college scholarships. A general application will test the student’s eligibility based on the requirements of each scholarship; the system will then notify the student what they are eligible to apply for. Students can apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for, however, they may only receive one scholarship from the Foundation. It is the Foundation’s policy to award the highest total value scholarship won.

“We see scholarships as an equalizing gift to the youth from our community.” Becky Goss, MCCF President and CEO, said, “This gift gives our youth a chance to develop their skills and while some may not return back to the community, the ones that do will be a part of the investment made into McPherson County.”

With the use of a new system and the addition of new scholarships MCCF will be making it a priority to present details to the seniors of McPherson County high schools. A date to present to McPherson High Schools students has already been set for Thursday, Oct. 27.

It should be noted that Inman High School students applying for scholarships should contact their counselor.
