Last Thursday the McPherson Opera house hosted a performance of the opera show Staggerwing. The show, presented by Opera Kansas, celebrates Wichita’s legacy of innovation in flight. The show honors the 1936 Bendix Trophy victory of Louise Thaden and Blanche Noyes and aviation pioneers Olive Ann and Walter Beech, champions of equality in the skies. The performance was supported by a $5,000 grant from the McPherson County Community Foundations general Grant round in Feb.
