11 Sep Moundridge Community Foundation ‘Homegrown’ Grants announced

Free Air in Moundridge — $3,575
MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — The Moundridge Community Foundation (MCF) has awarded the first round of grants from its “Homegrown” grant series.
The program is designed to spark sustainable, community-driven change by empowering local residents to take ownership of solutions that address their unique challenges and opportunities. By providing funding, resources and support, the Homegrown Grant encourages grassroots initiatives that foster innovation, build local leadership and strengthen community connections.
For its initial round, MCF awarded $6,000 to fund three projects:
Free Air in Moundridge — $3,575
Installed earlier this month at Moundridge Lumber and Rental, this public air pump allows drivers and bicyclists to fill their tires for free. The project was a collaboration among Moundridge Lumber and Rental, the City of Moundridge and Frontier Electric. The MCF grant paid for the cost of the equipment.

New Signs for Disc Golf — $1,497.41
New Signs for Disc Golf — $1,497.41
This grant will replace damaged and worn signage at the Moundridge Disc Golf Course (Black Kettle Park). The new signs have been ordered and are expected to be installed in the coming months.
Moundridge High Leadership Class — $972.59
The high school leadership class received funding to launch a student civic engagement program. The project aims to encourage students to contribute positively to their community.
The Homegrown Grant program is open year-round and follows the same timeline as the MCF regular grants cycle, with applications due on the 15th of every other month, beginning in Nov.
Applicants are encouraged to follow this three-step process:
Plant Your Idea
Community members share an idea for making Moundridge even better — something rooted in local needs or dreams.

Moundridge High Leadership Class — $972.59
Grow it Together
Work with a local community group to shape the idea into a grant application — neighbors helping neighbors.
Harvest the Good
If selected, the idea receives funding and support to take root and grow.
