24 Sep VIPS Release Grants to Lindsborg Organizations

Earlier this week, McPherson County Community Foundation staff joined fourth-grade students at Soderstrom Elementary School for their Voices in Philanthropy program.
Voices in Philanthropy, or VIPs, is an MCCF program designed to introduce students to the concepts of philanthropy, giving back, and the role local organizations play in strengthening their communities.
During the session, students heard from several organizations based in Lindsborg. Each organization shared more about its work in the community and explained how charitable support helps make that work possible.
At the conclusion of the program, each student received a designated amount of grant funding to distribute to one or more of the participating organizations. MCCF will then distribute the students’ selections to the organizations.
The program is designed to create a direct connection between students’ giving decisions and the impact local organizations have in their communities, giving students a hands-on opportunity to experience philanthropy in action.
