McPherson County Professional Recruitment (CPR) was established by the McPherson County Community Foundation in 2025 with the mission of supporting local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government entities through reverse scholarships and workforce recruitment initiatives. Reverse scholarships provide funding to individuals residing in McPherson County to help repay certain cost associated with employment, including student loan repayment, training or equipment costs, and relocation expenses.
Application are accepted year round and will be dispersed as funds allow and by approval from the MCCF board.
All applications can be submitted to Info@Mcphersonfoundation.org, or dropped off at the Foundations office: 1233 N. Main in McPherson, KS.
Applicants must plan to or have recently relocated to McPherson County and hold a trade or skills certification relevant to their current employment. Applicants will also be asked to provide details about their current or future employment, certifications, career goals and timeline for moving to the county. Award recipients will receive up to a $750 reimbursable award that can be applied toward student loan repayment, professional training or acquisition of tools related to work. Current Application
Recipients may receive up to $5,250 over a three-year period, beginning with an initial $1,000 award. Participants may then reapply for a second-year payment of $1,750 and a third-year payment of $2,500. Recipients must verify each year that they are still living and working in McPherson County to remain eligible for continued funding.
Eligibility is based on both employment and residency within McPherson County. Applicants must either be relocating to the county for employment or be a recent college graduate, graduating in May of the current year, who is accepting their first job in McPherson County. Current Application
