18 Dec Holiday Funds
It’s the holiday season, and we wanted to share a few of the funds that are spreading cheer in our community:
Blue Santa
Blue Santa, operated by the McPherson Police Department, helps provide gifts to families in need. This year, the program served 53 children from 14 families, providing gifts, clothing and other essential items. While gifts for this season have already been distributed, it’s not too early to think about supporting families in need for 2026.
Resource Council Food Baskets
Through its Christmas food basket program, the Resource Council provides food to families in need during the holiday season. This support is especially important for children who may miss meals typically provided through schools and for families facing added financial strain during the holidays.
Community Christmas Dinner
The Community Christmas Dinner offers a warm, home-cooked meal to the community on Christmas Day. Open to the public, the dinner provides not only a traditional Christmas meal but also fellowship and connection for those who need it most.
Shoes and Coats for Kids
This fund helps provide winter coats to children in need. Kansas winters can be cold and windy, and a proper coat helps keep children warm, comfortable and safe throughout the season.
Lights of the Heartland
Through the City of McPherson Parks Fund, support is designated for the Lights of the Heartland display, helping bring holiday cheer and a festive atmosphere to the community.
