13 Aug Foundation releases $40,000 in August
The McPherson County Community Foundation have announced their grant recipients for August 2026. This cycle the Foundation released over $40,000 to organizations across the county. These distributions came from two different community funds.
McPherson County General Grants
McPherson County Health Department – McPherson County Recovery Court – $24,600
Recovery Court is a drug treatment program with oversight from the court that assists people with substance abuse disorders, often in lieu of going to jail. Participants are less likely to relapse and oftentimes a structured and supervised plan produces better results than incarceration.
K-State Research and Extension – Health Nutrition and wellness – $5,000
The McPherson County Extension Office has offered it’s Teach and Taste program since January 2023. The Extension Office has a kitchen and meeting room that provides an opportunity to offer cooking classes to the community. The class is offered once a month to all ages to learn cooking techniques, improve nutrition knowledge and build meaningful relationships.

USD 400 – Smoky Valley Theater equipment – $5,000
This grant will fund two Froggy’s Fog Boreas S4 OMX Snow Machines, one Froggy’s Fog Titan H4 Hazer, and OMX cabling to enhance theatrical effects for productions such as our upcoming musical,
*Frozen*, and future performances.
Bethany College – theatre resources in collaboration with USD 400 and Broadway RFD – $7,000
This project will purchase essential theatre
resources-including wireless microphones, costumes, and props-to enhance the quality of upcoming theatre performances. The investments will replace aging equipment, expand production capabilities, and improve audience experience.
Lindsborg at work association – the 2026 meadowlark march – $1,500
In honor of these events, we want to utilize the recently finished Meadowlark Trail to host a military style “Ruck March and Reflective Walk” on September 12th here in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Lindsborg Community Hospital – Community Ready first aid kit – $4,000
We are requesting funding to launch the Community Ready First Aid Kit – Caring Beyond Our Walls initiative, providing 400 durable first aid kits containing essential supplies, emergency contact information, and basic first aid guidance for homes, vehicles, farms, and outdoor recreation.
